Jack Eichel has been knocking on the door of his first 100-point NHL season, and my 2026-27 Fantasy Hockey projection has him coming painfully close.
After producing 27 goals and 63 assists for 90 points in only 74 games last season, Eichel enters the new campaign as one of the safest elite centres available to fantasy managers. His production worked out to an impressive 1.22 points per game, putting him on a 100-point pace over a full 82-game schedule.
My official projection for Eichel in 2026-27 is 31 goals, 68 assists and 99 points in 80 games for the Vegas Golden Knights.
That projection might look aggressive, but Eichel has now recorded at least 90 points in consecutive seasons. His role has also become more valuable with Mitch Marner, Tomas Hertl, Mark Stone and Shea Theodore surrounding him on the Golden Knights’ dangerous first power-play unit.
The biggest question is no longer whether Eichel can produce like a top-tier fantasy centre. It is whether he can stay healthy enough to finally break through the 100-point barrier.

Jack Eichel 2026-27 Projection
Vegas Golden Knights
| Fantasy category | 2026-27 projection |
|---|---|
| Games played | 80 |
| Goals | 31 |
| Assists | 68 |
| Points | 99 |
| Power-play points | 33 |
| Shots on goal | 275 |
My projection model weighs recent points-per-game production, two-year scoring consistency, expected power-play deployment, shot volume and anticipated games played.
Eichel registered 94 points in 77 games during the 2024-25 season before finishing with 90 points in 74 appearances last season. That gives him 184 points over his past 151 regular-season games, an average of approximately 1.22 points per game.
Maintaining that rate over my projected 80 games would result in roughly 97 points. I have added a modest offensive increase because Eichel should have another season to develop chemistry with Marner and the rest of the Vegas power play.
The Golden Knights converted on 24.6 percent of their power-play opportunities last season, finishing sixth in the NHL. Eichel also previously established career highs with 34 power-play points and 29 power-play assists in 2024-25.
Why Jack Eichel Can Challenge 100 Points Again
The most encouraging part of Eichel’s fantasy profile is that he does not need an unsustainable shooting percentage to reach this projection.
He scored 27 times on 260 shots last season, converting on 10.4 percent of his attempts. A slight rebound in shooting efficiency, combined with approximately 15 additional shots, would put 30 or more goals well within reach.
My personal observation is that Eichel has become a much more complete offensive conductor than he was earlier in his career. He no longer needs to carry the puck through every defender or create every scoring chance himself. He can slow the game down, draw coverage and distribute the puck to Marner, Stone, Hertl or Theodore.
That evolution raises his fantasy floor because assists are less volatile than goals. Even when Eichel is not finishing his own chances, he remains involved in a large percentage of Vegas’ most dangerous offensive sequences.
His playoff performance also strengthened the projection. Eichel recorded 22 points in 22 postseason games and led all players with 105 skating bursts of at least 20 miles per hour. That suggests he maintained his explosiveness despite a long season and a demanding playoff workload.
There are still risks. Eichel has played more than 77 games only once in his NHL career, while Stone’s availability has frequently changed the composition of the Vegas lineup. John Tortorella could also place additional defensive responsibilities on Eichel against elite opposing centres.
However, those responsibilities did not prevent Eichel from leading Vegas in scoring last season. His ability to contribute at even strength, on the power play and through heavy shot volume makes him valuable in both points-only pools and category leagues.
NHL.com’s early 2026-27 rankings place Eichel 22nd overall, confirming that he remains a legitimate second-round target in standard fantasy drafts. I would be comfortable selecting him anywhere from approximately 16th to 24th overall, especially in formats that reward power-play points and shots.
The final prediction is 31 goals, 68 assists and 99 points. Eichel has a realistic ceiling of 105 points if he plays 80 or more games, while approximately 85 points represents a reasonable downside scenario if injuries limit his season.
